Will the Jay Leno Show Be a Hit?

Since Jay Leno has been replaced by Conan O'Brien on the Tonight Show, will Jay Leno's new show become a hit? I think it has possibilities since he will be airing earlier in the evening. Leno's new show will appear in Kansas, I'm not sure about other areas, before the local news.

I believe coming on before the local news in Kansas will help his ratings. When I watched the Tonight Show, I would watch his opening comments and move on to another channel. I liked listening to Jay Leno talk about what was in the news with a humorous spin.

Talk shows that have a different spin, like The Colbert Report and The Daily Show, have been big hits on cable. I can see why NBC is taking a different approach with Leno's talk show.

I don't watch The View, Tyra, Ellen or Montel. Depending on the topic of the Dr. Phil Show and Oprah depends on if I watch their talk shows. I have occasionally watched Rachel Ray's talk show.

I think The Jay Leno Show will be a refreshing change on night time television. I also believe his time slot for those who don't watch CSI Miami will enjoy the show. That will be the only downfall to The Jay Leno Show being aired on Monday's at the 9:00 PM time slot in Kansas. This will allow those who stayed up to watch Leno on the Tonight Show to watch him before the news and head off to bed.

I'm not saying Kansans don't have a since of humor because they do. Then again The Jay Leno Show could give CSI Miami a run for its money during this time slot.

Another good thing about The Jay Leno Show being on Monday nights, those of us who don't watch Monday Night Football will have another show to watch. I know there are others like me who don't watch football on television. This doesn't make me Un-American honestly. I am one of these folks who would rather watch sports in person at the field.

It may seem Leno's new show may have the deck stacked against him, but I believe this comedian, the writers, producers, and NBC can pull it off. The best thing about airing The Jay Leno show later in the evening, it won't be competing against to many talk shows during this time slot.
