Will Jon and Kate Gosselin Get Back Together?

Maggie Blake
Anyone who owns a television, goes online, or stands in the checkout line at the grocery store is, no doubt, familiar with who Jon and Kate Gosselin are. The now separated, thirty-something couple from Pennsylvania who are the parents of twins and sextuplets have been in the media spotlight for several months. In recent months, Jon and Kate Gosselin have filed for divorce, and the TLC reality show that focused on their lives with their eight children has now ended. However, the ending of the show hasn't stopped the media frenzy surrounding Jon and Kate Gosselin. Just this week, Kate Gosselin was featured in an emotional interview on TLC, and the next day Jon Gosselin was filmed airing his apologies to Kate as he sat with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach at West Side Synagogue in New York.

Hours later, evening television reports featured panels discussing the possibility for a Jon and Kate reunion. It seems the two Gosselin parents have many beginning to wonder if there is potential for them to cancel the divorce and get back together. With Kate admitting that a part of her still loves Jon, and Jon seeming to appear genuinely regretful of recent actions, it's no wonder the idea of them getting back together has the public intrigued. Could it happen?

Jon and Kate certainly have a lot of reasons to consider getting back together. Eight, at the very least. It's no secret that children are painfully affected by divorce. During TLC's Kate: Her Story, Kate Gosselin candidly discussed how one of her twin daughters curled into a ball and sobbed when she was told that her parents were separating. Anyone who learned the same of their own parents as a child knows how painful that moment is, because let's face it, we've never forgotten it. The news of divorce changes a child forever. Personally, the realization that my parents were splitting up still ranks in the top 5 most painful events in my life, and it happened nearly 30 years ago. Even those in the public who have not been fans of Jon and Kate Gosselin likely feel a twinge of sadness for the Gosselin kids. Nobody with any sense of compassion likes to see a family split up.

The Gosselin kids are the most important reason that Jon and Kate could consider getting back together, but it's not the only reason that reconciliation could be the best thing for them. The pair is also likely to be able to earn more money for their family as an intact unit, and as much as they have been criticized for focusing on money, the truth is that many of us are guilty of the same. Additionally, they must have money to support their family, just as everyone else does.

Whether or not Jon and Kate Gosselin will get back together remains to be seen, but one thing is certain and that is that the public will be watching and waiting to find out what happens next. Here's hoping that Jon and Kate can be strong enough to do what is truly best for their family, whatever that may be.

I would like to see them work through things and prove that the media can be wrong and not ruin lives of all people like they seem to do.

Even though Jon's behavior is unacceptable he still has a chance to redeem himself. I think that Kate has a forgiving heart and they could put their lives back together..Not many people want them back together, but I think that everybody should support them in reuniting for the kids...
