Will Justice Be Found? - Justice For Jonathan in Lebanon, Missouri

On June 23rd of 2007, my 23 month old grandson, Jonathan, was killed. Right after it first happened I had wrote this article: Grandpa's Broken Heart

I have been at battle here in Lebanon, Missouri over child-abuse. There seems to be an epidemic of it here. I also have been adamant in Justice For Jonathan.

Everything is winding down in the investigation and it is not looking good at all. This is the newspaper article that was recently released on Jonathan's birthday which was July 10th. Lebanon Daily Record

The head prosecutor, Angie Hemphill Wright, Called my wife and me into her office recently. She proceeded to tell us that the case was winding down and she probably would not file any charges. She also told us the coroner listed the death as a homicide. I wanted to know why no charges would be filed. She explained how they feel that Jonathan died.

There is a torture technique that government's use on prisoner's. It is called water-boarding. It is a bad form of torture that a person has a cloth over their face and water is poured over the cloth causing a drowning sensation. David Olson had Jonathan in the shower when my daughter came home from work. He { David} claimed Jonathan fell in the shower. If the death was caused by a fall, his head would have swelled and bled in the area he fell on. Instead little Jonathan's whole brain was swelled worse than the coroner has ever seen. Ms Wright told me this coroner took the case in front of a convention of coroners. Many believe Jonathan was killed by this water torture but the prosecutor feels there is not enough medical proof.

She also told me that day that at least David was getting sentenced to jail for violating probation. Lo and behold, he escaped. They haven't found him yet.

From the way things have been going, I believe some people are upset about that article that was in the Lebanon Daily Record. Last night, July 11th, 2008, My wife and I were in bed. Our daughter was on a date with a nice young man. Our Grandson Elijah was at the sitter. All of a sudden there was a banging on the door. I opened the door to two sheriff deputies and two Department of Children's Services workers. People that claimed they would protect Jonathan. I asked what they wanted so late at night. They said they wanted to see my daughter and Elijah. We explained where they were. I was very angry! I asked one of the deputies, Johnnie Brackett, if they were searching for David Olson as hard as they are harassing my family.

It seems every time I raise my voice, they attack me. It was then Ok'd to meet with my daughter two days later at 2 in the afternoon. If it was so important, why was my wife and I rousted from our sleep at 11p.m. at night?

These people all know how Jonathan died and who did it. Why are they harassing us?

I have found that here in Lebanon, Missouri I have many people backing this fight. There have been very many people that JUST didn't do their jobs. Jonathan's life could have been saved. What I want is to see the attitude towards abuse here in the Ozarks to change. There are people who know it is happening and turn their heads the other way.

Child abuse must be confronted. Government officials should be held accountable for their mistakes. It doesn't seem that they are. For any of you officials that may be reading this article, don't assume that I am going to stop because of your harassment. It only makes me fight harder.
