I am sure if Lebron James wasn't an Ohio native it would be much easier for him to leave, but I also feel James WILL leave. The team and fans in Cleveland are certainly trying to keep Lebron James as a Cavalier. Sportsyapp.com posted a video of some Ohio big shots trying to convince Lebron James to stay in Cleveland.
Lebron James will probably go to the New York Knicks for several reasons. The biggest is money, I don't care who you are, you want to make the most cash that you can in life. Lebron James will make a fortune in endorsements playing in the "Big Apple' and the Knicks will pay him pretty well also.
Lebron James showed himself to be selfish in the past with prima donna treatment he demanded from the club. It was also widely speculated that he quit in the 2010 NBA playoffs. There is still some concern that his elbow injury played into his lack of production in certain games. But Lebron James was clearly calling attention to his injury and seemed to be pouting.
I think Lebron James wants to be compared to Michael Jordan and that means winning NBA titles. He possibly can win one in New York as they will add other players to help him and blow up the NBA salary cap, and pay the luxury tax.
The New York Knicks have two decent players at forward with David Lee and Al Harrington. Coach Mike D'Antoni runs a more offensive oriented game than Lebron James has been playing in Cleveland.
According to this New York Daily News article the Knicks have cap room to sign Lebron and whatever A type player he wants to join them. Lebron James and the Knicks would do well to get the best center they can find. Lebron needs a good big man to help against Dwight Howard and other bigs in the NBA.
Lebron will go to New York or possibly the Chicago Bulls. I just don't feel like it will be Chicago though because New York is the best fit for James. Chicago is Michael Jordan's town and always will be. Lebron James will make New York his town if he wins one or more NBA titles there.
There has been much comparison between Michael Jordan and Lebron James even though a better comparison is Magic Johnson and James. In my opinion Michael Jordan was the 2nd best NBA player of all time, see my top 5 NBA players list here. Lebron James is not even in my top ten until he wins a title or several. But when Lebron James joins the New York Knicks, he may just do that.

Post a CommentJames is going to the Miami Heat so the fans in Cleveland are screwed.
I think Lebron is going to Miami or Cleveland. I no longer think New York is in the running.
Money speaks, Hometown is always nice but I guess with a so much money you can go home and visit anytime you want.
I asked the 8-ball whether Lebron would leave. It said, "almost certainly."
The Cleveland Plain Dealer's front page on Sunday had everyone from Obama to Ohio's governor quoted as saying where they would like to see Lebron play.
..right the other MJ ;-)Fantastic coverage
I completely agree. LeBron has been around Ohio his whole life and hes gonna want to go somewhere else. I think he goes to the Knicks or someone who has a great post player (or will sign Bosh). I also think Wade goes to Chicago.
