Will McCartney Apologize?

Can the 67 Year-old Rock Star Sing a New Tune?

Mike Sellars
After flippantly insulting former President Bush at a White House gala this past Wednesday evening, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney has been called upon to apologize for his insulting and grossly ignorant remark.

Among those demanding that McCartney apologize for quipping: "After the last eight years, it's great to have a President that knows what a library is.", (as he was being awarded the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the Library of Congress of the United States of America) was House Minority Leader John Boehner, who implored McCartney to apologize for his erroneous and demeaning utterance in an interview with HumanEvents.com on Thursday.

Apologizing for his remarks is not a new phenomonon for the aging pop icon; he's had to eat his own words in the past, when pressured. But that pressure was applied by the Progressive Left after McCartney committed the unforgivable sin of penning and singing pro-American lyrics in his post-911 song Freedom, which McCartney afterwards called "ill-conceived".

So we know he can do the dance, if the music is loud enough ... maybe the following facts will turn the volume up loud enough for even the ancient rocker to hear:

George W. Bush holds an MBA from Harvard, the first American President to do so. Does McCartney think Bush earned that honor without a few visits to the library?

Bush's wife, Laura, is a Librarian, with her own Masters in Library Science!

The truly stunning ignorance inherent in the remark aside, should McCartney even be in a position to apologize? Why in God's name is the Library of Congress of the United States of America bestowing upon a self-proclaimed anti-American foreign citizen a prestigious American honor?

is mccartney living in a time warp? hasn't he heard that Obama has sent Bush's approval ratings to new heights? Interesting article...I hadn't heard about McCartney's "Freedom" song, etc.

Mike, I agree with you - Paul was outta bounds, clearly, but just like the umpire who called that player safe the other night when he was clearly "out" - there will probably be no apology forthcoming any time in the near future! cheers, my friend!

Mike, his is not an American and has no right to bash our president. Stay in your own genre, is my advice to these people who think they know everything!
