Will Megan Joy Go or Will 'Vote for the Worst' Save Her?

Will Megan Joy Leave American Idol on April 1st?

On March 31st, American Idol's nine remaining performers played songs that were among the top iTunes downloads. There were a few standout performances, but not all of them were good. Megan Joy's performance was the worst. Her rendition of Bob Marley's "Turn Your Lights Down Low" was amateurish at best. We can only hope that she goes home on April 1st.

Megan Joy wore a sleeveless shirt that showed off that hideous tattoo on her right arm. Her dancing, if you could call it that, was also difficult to watch. Worst of all was her singing. Simon called it boring. It was practically monotone, and difficult to listen to. She is clearly out of her league at this point in the competition.

Anoop Desai sung the second worst performance of the night with his version of Usher's "Caught Up." The vocals were okay, but they lacked in feeling. The song was not painful to listen to, however, and his performance was obviously better than Megan Joy's. He will probably be joining her in the bottom three, however.

While Megan Joy should be going home tomorrow, she is the pick on the Vote For The Worst web site. If she does survive another week, it will only be due to the influence of their callers. Anoop Desai would probably be going home in that case.

Another performance that I did not care for, but seemed to wow the audience, was Adam Lambert singing Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music." I hated it. While I loved his performance last week, I did not like the arrangement tonight. His vocals were fine, but the arrangement seemed to be all over the place.

I enjoyed Danny Gokey and Scott MacIntyre's performances the most. Lil Rounds' performance, unfortunately, was disappointing. She sang "I Surrender All," originally recorded by Celine Dion. If you're going to sing Celine, Mariah, or Whitney, you have to nail it. Although her vocals were fine, unfortunately, she didn't nail it.

We should see Megan Joy and Anoop Desai in the bottom three on Wednesday's results show. While I'm not sure who will be joining them, it looks like Megan Joy will be going, unless the Vote For The Worst crowd saves her for one more week.

  • Megan Joy clearly had the worst performance on American Idol on March 31, 2009.
  • She is the Vote For The Worst Pick, that is her only hope of survival.
  • Anoop Desai's performance was also lackluster, but not as bad as Megan's.

What a hack deleting Donald's post. Megan Joy will stay tonight because she has talent and she is the most real person on the show. Everyone else is either a fake or a worthless sham.

Haha! Freedom of the press means that I (the press) have the right to say whatever I want in my article ;-). It also means that Donald can write his own article and say whatever he wants in his own article. If Donald wants to write an article saying how much he hates my article, then more power to him.

Freedom of the press! Bring back Donald!

The suspense is certainly building :)
