Will Nintendo Be Hosting the First Ever Adult Rated Video Game?

Everybody knows of Nintendo for have those cute family oriented games like Mario, Pikmin, Kirby, Wario and More, but who would ever dream that they would be host to one of the first ever Adult Rated video games? Nobody has never thought this possible but this thought looks like it will become a reality.

On June 19th, the ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) has issued one of the latest editions of one of Rockstar's games "ManHunt 2" an Adult Rating. ManHunt 2 is slated to come out on the PSP, PS2 and the Nintendo Wii. The fact that this game has achieved an Adult Rating is what is creating the most fuss amongst gamers and worried parents alike. ManHunt 2 was actually banned over in the UK just a few days prior to this happening in America.

Apparently this game will be showing off a lot of blood and gore and violence to be giving it an Adult Rating. The only other game to get an Adult Rating would be GTA: San Andreas when the whole "Hot Coffee" Mod blew up and created controversy. I can't go into details on that but you can easily find it by searching online search engines.

The big thing with this concerning the Nintendo Wii is not only the violence this game will portray, but the fact that people will be using motions to kill people by using the Wii's motion controllers. The thought of young kids using these controllers to simulate killing people is what most parents are getting concerned about.

Personally, I agree that these controllers could seriously point out ways of killing people and by watching it on a screen but at the same time I don't believe video games are the sole reason kids today go crazy in schools and such but that's for another time for me to get into.

Right now Rockstar is looking into ways to possibly getting the rating down to an M rating which might be a little more friendly with consumers but for an Adult Rated game to come onto the Wii and still really be the first one ever? and on a Family type console is just crazy. I never would have dreamed. There has been no word if Rockstar will actually take action or not.

You can almost guarantee that the fact this has brought so much controversy already on Nintendo and SONY for considering this, that you know they would never put out an AO Rated game due to the massive crowds of angry parents and the rants from Jack Thompson that would ensue. It would just bring negativity upon Nintendo and SONY and many just don't see it happening.

You can guarantee that Rockstar's number one fan Jack Thompson will be all over this game if it gets published as an Adult Rated game. Actually Jack Thompson will be all over this game period because of his firm beliefs that violent games are murder training games that kids use to commit violence. You could expect to see another lawsuit from Mr. Thompson on Rockstar if this even is to stay the direction it is going.
