Will Non-Royal Oak Residents Be Bound by Same Medical Marijuana Laws as Royal Oak Residents?

In these days after the moratorium vote was passed by the Royal Oak City Council, there are many that live in neighboring communities that have questions about the ruling, and how it might affect them. There are also residents in Royal Oak that wonder if non-residents are going to be held to the same laws and fines that they are.

While the possession of medical marijuana is illegal in Royal Oak, there are many outside of the Royal Oak that are concerned that if they are pulled over for an infraction in the city, and they are found in possession of medical marijuana, that they are going to have to pay the stiff fines as well since their city allows it. Also, some non-Royal Oak residents point to the fact that the medical marijuana would have been prescribed.

On the flip side, some residents of Royal Oak that I spoke to want to make sure that people from outside of Royal Oak are prosecuted just as residents would be if they were to be caught with medical marijuana in their possession. So far, calls to members of the Royal Oak City Council have not been returned as to this issue.
