Will Obama Kill the American Dream
Wealth Redistribution and Tax Hikes for the Wealthy Eliminate Entrepreneur Dreams
Whatever your starting point happens to be, here in America you can rise above anything to achieve your dreams. Makes no difference if you come from the projects of the inner city, the rural farmlands, or float across the ocean on a rickety old raft from a third world country, you can find success here. That could all be in danger of changing in the near future.
The wealthy in this country already pay upwards of 40% of their income in taxes were as the poor pay nothing. Yes the super rich can and do find ways to shelter their finances so as to keep their wealth but what of those people that are in pursuit of their dreams of financial independence. It can be a rough struggle building a business from the ground up and most successful entrepreneurs do experience pitfalls and setbacks along the way already.
So to add on the whole idea of wealth redistribution could very well extinguish many a burning fires within a lot of rising stars in the business world. Obama's "Robin Hood" approach to solving our countries economic problems may sound all warm and fuzzy but they won't solve anything and they very well could create a social disaster. Not only will the masses become reliant on handouts but one mans half-baked vision of improvement could easily in time turn into some God given right.
Barack as of late has tried his hardest to come across as the new age John Kennedy with one twist, instead of "Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country." he's setting it up to read, Forget what you can do for your country or yourselves, just ASK and I'll get someone to give it to you." Now of course uneducated, lower income folks who neither believe or understand how they can better their own lives are going to jump and shout (and vote) louder than a sixteen year old girl at the first appearance of the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, but that doesn't make it right.
If we lose the drive in this country to better ourselves because of the fear it will all simply be taken away and given to others almost as a punishment for our own success what economical climate will this produce. Those already wealthy will hide their fortunes in offshore accounts or Wall Street back room deals or more likely other countries. Which would explain how Warren Buffet can go on national T.V. and boast that his secretary pays more taxes than he does.
The initial shine is coming off the arrogant rock star and as Americans begin adding up all of his Presidential goals, dreams, and promises, more of them will see the true meaning behind his number one slogan "Change We Can Believe In" is really change - that's all you'll have in your pocket , just change. A bit ironic that if his policies were in place while he was advancing in life both he and Michelle would never have gotten as far as they did. For some people, once YOU got yours, to hell with the next guy.

Post a Comment42 years ago the whole of humanity was united. And that was the moon landing on the 21st of July 1969.What is the most important thing to a nation,to all humanity? Is it not our dreams? What are our goals? what are we bleeding and sweating tears for? We have no dreams that we know we will reach in our generation. For Obamma killed the moon programme,he killed are dreams, and now our Dream has died
with these huge billion dollar tax breaks. WHY are they getting them in the first place?
They have limited their risks as well by buying up huge portions of our government; again I'm not really feeling sorry for them.
Back to immigration...
No not all illegals come here with good intent and we've all but helped in encouraging those with bad intent to come on over. Human trafficking is a huge problem and a lucrative opportunity for criminals.
Crime has existed since the dawn of time, it has and always will. Blanket blaming(not that you have) illegals for all the social woes of our country is a cop out if you ask me and functions only as a talking point for those who would divide the country on racial lines. It's that simple. Not only does it divert attention away from real issues, it seeks to avoid REAL questions by proposing a wacky explanation. There are far more underlining social problems than JUST illegal immigration, again see my list from my first post.
Yeah I've been marketing off and on now for about 8 years with a small break in between at the 6 year mark. I do well enough along with a bookkeeping business I have. I agree everyone should be online these days, but practically speaking, well it's just not practical. There are a lot of "human" factors you have to take into consideration. Education, personal drive & goals, family situations, dreams, etc, etc into why people choose what path they will take to make money. Unfortunately America is founded on the idea that if you work harder you make more, it has always been about working SMARTER though...So you are right in things not being the way they once were... just how long till everyone catches on?
Oil is not the future; bottom line. Drilling in other areas is not really going to help this. Again a 16 billion dollar quarter (even if it is only 8%) is still a 16 billion dollar quarter...you'll forgive me if I don't shed a tear. I just don't get how you can support corporate welfar
I agree with you on the immigration issue, we could stop it but we won't, We both live in Az. so you know as well as I do that not all illegals come here with good intent. That issue aside, I see you're into Internet marketing, you realize Internet sales will experience huge growth AGAIN this year. So much for a bad economy. Hell , look at the records being broken with Presidential fund raising, if you go by that , Americans have more money.
Your argument on big oil sure sounds like laser vision, the big picture is Exxon/Mobile only made an 8% profit . They spend billions and take huge risks to make that money. In the 90's oil was $30 barrel there were no tears for all the oil company layoffs. I believe hard work = success, just not in the same fashion as the past. You say I'm naive to think everyone can own their own company, you're into Internet business, you must know that everyone with a computer should have some type of online business. Will they NO but they could at low start
As for Immigration:
realistically you can't stop illegals from coming here. Someone who has just walked 2k miles to better his/her seam to me to have the determination to get around a wall. Bottom line is it's not goign to be stopped. You can go after the small businesses and large businesses that use illegal immigration, BUT i think that would completely squash your argument of the american dream by making it that much harder to become financially independent due to being in prison.
With this idea in mind it is in my opinion that we need another guest worker program. All the money we lose on taxes alone would more than justify this. I believe we should charge a monthly fee of x amount of dollars for a work visa(illegals have the money afterall they are spending 5k to come here)
Rather than looking at illegals as a problem why not turn them into a solution? The reason they are a burden(dbt) is because they not capitalized on by our government...beyond a silly talking point.
Well as you can tell portions of it got cut off and I was in a rush:) So I will have to apologize for that. I only have 1k words to work with.
Redistribution of wealth...I really don't see where you show this nor do I see O's plans as doing this to the extent you laid out. More to the point O would like to tax corporation who are NOT in need of breaks. The oil industry for instance receives millions of dollars in tax breaks, yet are the most profitable businesses in history. So if you're complaining about that I just don't see where you have a leg to stand on.
So what is the new American dream if not, Hard work=prosperity?
I think it a bit naive of you to think that EVERYONE can own their own company. America is a country of hard working people, not of businesses and that is something republicans have lost sight of.
There are more ways to reach your financial independence than owning a company, it is still possible to go to school and work for what you earn and then retire...al
it has become much harder with rising gas prices, a struggling dollar and any number of problems facing the American economy right now.
IMHO you are taking a very non-American approach to what our economy should be. You're treating people like they are numbers and treating businesses like they are people.
Your assumption that the economy, outsourcing,a dead dollar, and corrupt politicians are the only things to blame. I agree corrupt politicians, or more realistically (egomaniacs) don't care about the American people, just look at Nancy Pelosi. As for outsourcing let's be honest the influx of illegals far out weight sending menial labor jobs to India.
I couldn't help but notice you avoided the wealth redistribution issue, I can only guess you've seen what that did in Europe. My argument ( as you put it ) doesn't blame taxing the wealthy - it blames an extremely flawed National economic policy that Obama wants. Perhaps like many Americans your view of the American Dream is the old version - go to school get good grades work real hard for 40 years at a big company then retire.
Truth is , that's the employee mentality of the good life. I'm talking about the Entrepreneur American Dream. I would have liked to hear your views on my entire article not just the parts you think you understan
(Cont)ity...and that's all Obama is trying to get back-the opportunity
Will Obama Kill the American Dream?
No a crap economy, outsourcing to foreign countries, lack of jobs, a dead dollar and corruption in government have already taken care of that.
Every reason you gave in regards to what WOULD happen is already happening.
Large companies and millionaire already hide money off shores.
Millionaire already use loopholes
Buffet is already NOT paying taxes.
Obama is trying to help out the vanishing middle class in America and you find a problem with this.
If someone is making 1 million dollars and are taxed 40% they are still taking home 600k
If someone is making 30k and are taxed 15% they take home 25.5k.
Which number can you do more with?
Your argument blames taxing the wealthy on a decrease in the ability to "start a business" when in actuality the above mentioned list of things already killing the American dream do far more damage than a tax break for working people.
You were right in one thing. People do come her for the opport
