Will Rachel Alexandra Run in the Belmont Stakes?

Rachel Alexandra has already proven she's one of the best horses in the world. By winning the Kentucky Oaks in a shattering blowout and then posting a near wire to wire win in the Preakness, the filly has put herself among the horse racing elite.

But the big question now is will Rachel Alexandra run in the Belmont Stakes. The dominant gal could put up back to back wins in the second and third leg of Horse Racing's Triple Crown. If she would have entered the Kentucky Derby who knows if a Triple Crown would have been possible for the do it all filly.

There has still been no decision by her trainers as to whether she will run in the Belmont Stakes as of today. It's a longer race and some think that favors Mine That Bird, the horse that won the Kentucky Derby.

There is also a slight dilemma brewing. Calvin Borel, who rode both Rachel Alexandra and Mine That Bird to victories during the week of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, is inbetween horses until a decision is made. Word is that Borel will be extended the offer to ride Mine That Bird should Rachel Alexandra not run. Calvin Borel has made it perfectly clear that he would hop aboard Rachel Alexandra in any race she enters. So it appears that it's not a question of which horse he is loyal to. It's just a question of will Rachel Alexandra run in the Belmont Stakes.
