Will Ryan Seacrest Take Simon Crowell's Seat?

Simon is Leaving American Idol!

What will happen to American Idol I ask somewhat snidely about bad boy, Simon Cowell? In all seriousness people love him. They love his realness, the fact he does tell it as it is and although he has been wrong more than once, he often is right on track when assessing talent. He also makes contestants cry and in many cases pushes the envelope way too far with his heartless comments.

Does Simon have his hands in too many pots? Simon Phillip Cowell, aged 50, has his hands in both the United States and the United Kingdom with hit shows like American Idol, The X Factor, and Britain's Got Talent.

Cowell is known for combining activities in the television and music industries, having promoted singles and records for various artists, including television personalities.

Simon will leave American Idol seen on Fox TV at the end of the season. Cowell's popular U.K. talent show, The X Factor, will be coming to the United States in the fall of 2011 and bringing Simon along with it.

It seems like many Simon wants to leave on the top of his game rather than a washed out and bored judge.

I love American Idol and suspect I will like it without Simon - perhaps even more so! I do not like how he treats many contestants. I also hope a revamping will take place and the producers will cut down on most of the ridiculous rather than funny contestants that waste our time.

Simon gets about $36 million per season. How the heck anyone walks away from that is hard for those of us writing for pennies to understand. But when you have so much money it is truly about work that makes you happy and in Simon's case it seems that The X Factor has the "it factor."

In addition Paula Abdul will no longer be a judge and the dynamics without her will undoubtedly change the nature of the show. Will she appear on the X Factor in the United States? Only time will tell.

Ellen DeGeneres is taking Paula's place on the show. A funny but unlikely judge for a show who many take seriously. It has made stars out of the unknown and in my opinion people lives' are in the judge's hands. I hate to see it turn into a comedy show.

American Idol started in 2002 and has ranked as a top television show with Mr. Cowell's presence being perhaps the reason for such high ratings. In fact by its fourth season it was the top show on television and has continued with that rank since. We all love Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest who have their own terrific personalities and add a lot to the show - so let's not forget them. In fact Ryan (not Randy) could definitely handle being the lead judge. He is well liked/loved and knows his music! He is charismatic, funny, and has a heart. I'm crossing my fingers that Ryan takes Simon's place.

I love the show, I hope this doesn't mean the end of the show. I like the judge commentary, but I really watch it for the singing.
