Will Super Bowl XLII Be a Giant Upset?

Josh Gillis
First of all, the New England Patriots are 18-0, let me remind you. The NY Giants record is... Well who even knows? Nobody pays attention to mediocre teams. (It's 13-6.) The New York Giants were known as one of the hottest teams in the NFL until they played the New England Patriots the last regular season game. They had a chance there to ruin New England's perfect season. However, they could not get the win. The patriots have been to the super bowl 4 times in the past 10 years and have won 3 of them. This will be their 5th super bowl in 10 years. So in the past decade they New England Patriots have been there half the time. I would believe this team to be a "Dynasty".

I believe that the New York Giants are getting way more attention then they really need. I believe they are very overrated. They are known as one of the hottest teams again because they won 3 playoff games on the road. Well.... The New England Patriots would be the hottest team in the NFL if you ask me because they won all 7 games on the road this year and just to add to the excitement they won all of their home games too. Another thing you New York Giants fans need to factor in when you are trying to simulate this upcoming football game is the fact that not only did the New England Patriots beat everybody they played this year they out scored them by 335 total points throughout the season which is an average of 18.8 points per game. That is nearly 3 touchdowns a game they have been winning by. The Giants will need to score at least 30 points to stay in this game.

The NY Giants may think they will be this underdog story such as the Washington Redskins thought this year. However, Seattle put an end to that controversy. But then Seattle did get beat by Green Bay who ended up loosing to these NY Giants. So if we speculate that way maybe these Giants are come kind of Hero Team. Perhaps every person who hates the Patriots will be cheering for them on Sunday and maybe that is more people then who are fans of the Patriots. Football has seemed to be a surprising year this year. Look at the Miami Dolphins they almost didn't win a game all season. The Cleveland Browns turned there season around from last year along with the Detroit Lions. The Chicago bears who were in the super bowl last year were in my eyes this year almost as bad as the Miami Dolphins. So it is hard to say who will win this game on Sunday. All I know is that while all these teams are having their ups and downs. The Patriots are knocking at the Super Bowls door every year. And half the time, she lets them in, and then 3/4 of the time gives Patriots the W.

Will Super Bowl XLII be a Giant Upset? Or a Giants Disappointment? We will see Sunday afternoon.

Go Pats!

I agree with you totally about how many points the Giants must score to stay in the game. Good post!
