Vince Carter is averaging career lows in a few fields with the Magic this season. He has been titled as Hedo Turkoglu's replacement, someone who is supposed to be clutch in the dieing moments and can come up big. Vince hasn't really done that.
In recent games at home, he has received boo's from the crowd.
Would the Magic be better off without Vince, or do they still need time to bond?
He looks to be injured and their system is just not the right fit for a player like him though earlier in the season seemed to do alright and some of the stats he scored 20 or more per game but now it seems as though he is having major difficulty even scoring the basketball.
Is the system to blame for his inability to contribute to the team or is it Vince Carter himself? I wouldn't attribute the system to be the cause of Vince Carter's lack of production though because the Magic are a team that relies on spot up shooting. I would say roughly 30% of their scoring is the result of spot up shooting and that fits Vince's playing style. It's part of what he does that makes him beneficial to NBA teams.
He has been known as one of those players that when he becomes dissatisfied with his team, he stops giving them his full effort so is Vince Carter no longer satisfied with being on the Orlando Magic? It seems any player would be happy to play for a championship contender though.
Recently their has been some issues regarding the satisfaction of some of their players. Both Gortat and Bass have stated they would like to be traded to a team that is able to give them more minutes. Is there something else at work here? Perhaps the players may have other reasons for being unhappy yet they do not speak of them publicly for fear of repercussions from the team.
It's understandable that it takes time to fit a player into your system but the game is up by now. He's not going to magically become a part of the team despite no matter how much they wish for their team name to be a reflection of the coaches ability.
