Will the White House Release Osama Bin Laden's Porn Photos?

The biggest trending news topic on Friday the 13th in May of 2011 seemed to be: Porn Found On Osama bin Laden's Computer! (Well, that and the all important story that Ashton Kutcher is set to replace Charlie Sheen on "Two and A Half Men.") Many have opinionated that the porn story is a US tactic to further sully the name of Osama bin Laden, but does it really do such a thing? Or does it just make America look even worse?

The reasoning behind releasing the information that pornography was found on the computer files retrieved from Osama bin Laden's compound, may have been to point out the contradiction between the man's words and his actions. Perhaps it was considered by some to be a tactical move to discredit him and any inspired by him. Osama was always a harsh critic on US porn and our sexed up ways. However, the news about this porn does not specify what type of porn it was and if it was American made porn then really a tactic like this could backfire. Osama preached a strict game, but has he ever claimed not to be human? Perhaps his anger over porn was driven by the fact that he himself could not avoid indulging in it. Therefore it explains some of his anger towards the naked arts and bloodlust against those who perpetrate it: they have seduced his life with sin. Therefore he sought to destroy the maker, cut off the evil in his mind at its source. Yes, I know, this is a stretch of a silly theory, but then so is the fact that pornography was found on a computer and the news feels this is headline stuff.

Pornography being found on Osama bin Laden's computer does not sound like a strong enough bullet to fire into the radical terrorist movement. It may provide them with some gossip, but just like priests who condemn such things, most of them are probably guilty of looking at porno as well. The issue then is whether or not this information provides extra anger for a terrorist to feed off of, seeing it as an American lie to further disgrace their fallen leader. If that is the case, or a risk at all, then the numbers may not add up to releasing said information having been worthwhile.

Of course, the pornography may not have even been the viewing pleasure of Osama bin Laden. Perhaps it was the property one of the other people in the home. Who knows? One thing I do know is we can surely expect the porn industry to thrive off of this attention and quickly push some Osama bin Laden themed porno flicks into production.

Now, I wonder where the White House stands on releasing materials in this instance. We were not allowed to see the Osama bin Laden death photos, but what about his porno collection?
