William & Kate Titles

What Are Kate & William Called Now that They're Married?

Adrienne Jenkins
After "I now pronounce you man and wife", William and Kate's titles have now been revealed by an official missive by the Queen. At most wedding ceremonies and receptions, the happy couple would be presented as Mr. & Mrs. So and So. The couple will not be called Prince & Princess William of Wales.

After William & Kate are pronounced husband and wife, the Queen has announced the couple will be officially called His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and Miss Catherine Elizabeth Middleton will be known as Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince William's full title will be HRH Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus while Kate will also become the Countess of Strathearn and Baroness Carrickfergus. This means Kate will not be known as Princess Kate.

Kate and William's last name is Mountbatten-Windsor but their official titles will be more commonly referred to. Yesterday, Kate woke up as simply Catherine Middleton of Reading, Berkshire, England but will leave Westminster Abbey as a Duchess, Countess and Baroness but more importantly the title of William's wife.

If or when William becomes King, people want to know if Kate will then be Queen of England? Yes, Kate will be Queen but there's a distinction that she will be Queen Consort not Queen Regnant. But Kate will most definitely be the Queen of our hearts.

Kate - "the queen of our hearts" sounds great! I completely agree :)
