William and Kate in Vanity Fair Magazine; Never Before Cover Photo

The photographer, Mario Testino, who gave us William and Kate's official engagement photos in 2010 will present us with a never-before-photo from that shoot. The royal couple will be on the cover of Vanity Fair's July issue. The magazine and photo comes 14 years after Princess Diana was featured. Inside the magazine an article, written by Katie Nicholl, will reveal further details about their married life thus far, honeymoon and the upcoming trip to North America, especially the U.S.

Mario Testino & Princess Diana

In the July 2011 Vanity Fair is the first magazine to feature the couple with a new, unseen photo. Many other glossies were trying to be the first. Testino has photographed other British royals, including Princess Diana, who is considered his favorite subject. Originally born and raised in Peru he now considers England his second home. He is truly grateful how photographing Diana took his career to a whole new level.

William and Kate's Married Life

In the magazine article we learn a few things about William and Kate that hasn't been published before. On the day of their wedding after the ceremony was over they had gotten out of their wedding attire to watch television. They ended up watching news coverage of their own wedding in terry-cloth robes. Prince Harry joined them later having a good time, especially when the frumpy bridesmaid, Grace van Custem, was on the balcony. William was quoted as saying "Poor Grace, she looks terrified."

Mums the Word on Honeymoon

Prince William decided to divert attention from all the wedding day frenzy by deliberately delaying their honeymoon. They felt by the time they went on their honeymoon the excitement in the press wouldn't be as intense. When they finally went to the Seychelles a couple of weeks after the royal wedding William arranged for their luxury villa to be stocked with Philadelphia cream cheese and Brussels sprouts. The latter food items are considered high in folic acid, which is beneficial in aiding fertility.

California, Here They Come

Katie Nicholl, the writer of the July Vanity Fair article, states William wants to continue being addressed as Prince William. This will then default to Kate as Princess Catherine. Kate is said to be "beyond excited" for their upcoming North American trip. It begins on June 30 in Canada for nearly 8 days, then it's off to California for three days from July 8-10. Many reports have stated they will meet with celebrities while in Los Angeles. This is to be a working visit, but I think meeting many celebrities while William and Kate are in the U.S. is inevitable.

It seems appropriate that they would be on the cover of a magazine with "Vanity" in its title.
