It's a family business with Will Smith ready to produce a remake of the musical movie, "Annie," starring his daughter Willow. At just 10 years old, Willow already had a music hit with "Whip My Hair."

Variety reports Smith is talking with Sony about producing the classic starring Willow. Musical collaboration might be with Jay-Z, who helped make "Whip My Hair" a hit.

Another remake in the Smith family starred Jaden with his dad in the classic from the 1980s, "The Karate Kid." Will also produced this successful movie which made over $350 million worldwide.

According to CNN, Willow Smith has previous acting experience in, "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl," "True Jackson, VP," "I Am Legend" and "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa."

"Annie" originated as "Little Orphan Annie" in a 1920s comic strip. By 1977, "Annie" became a Broadway musical.

In 1982, the original movie "Annie" premiered starring Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney and Carol Burnett. The movie is about a little orphan girl's adventures trying to find a family to take her in.

Will Smith must be remembering the popular movies of the 1980s, when he was growing up and rapping as "The Fresh Prince." Many others would appreciate sharing these movies with their children, just as Will is doing.

The Smith family is an excellent example of working together to create an empire. With Will and Jada as parents, the talents of Jaden and Willow are sure to be properly showcased.
