The Wilson Staff Ci7 irons are designed for the mid handicap player looking for forgiveness and distance. Compared to Wilson's other game improvement irons the Di7, the Ci7's look very good when you set them down, something the mid to low handicap player prefers. They feature "notch weighting" which allows the designers to move the weight lower on the club head and out towards the heel and toe areas for more forgiveness and a higher MOI. The face of this iron is very thin to maximize distance and allow for even more weight to be distributed to the perimeter of the club. The polished head and thin top line set up well for most players and really gives them a classic look, even for a mid size game improvement iron.
I hit the 6 iron with a stiff steel shaft and was immediately impressed with how well they looked at address. You could tell that these were mid sized heads, but the standard size shaft and thin top line hid the fact that these were the mid handicap player. They have a little more weight to them than the Di7 irons, which really helped me to feel I was more in control of the club though the swing. I was able to hit all the shots with this club! While it is a little hard to hit them low, I was able to hit some very good cut shots with these irons, something you typically can not do with a game improvement iron. The distance from shot to shot was very consistent along with its ball flight and the club head allowed the ball to go wherever I wanted it to and found its way to the green when I put a less than perfect swing on the ball.
This is a very good addition to the Wilson Staff line. I would suggest the Wilson Staff Ci7 irons to those who need just a little more forgiveness in their games and at the same time do not want to go to a bulky, over sized iron. Check these irons out!

ME - Played 10 yr old cally x14 pro's before these, 4 handicap, 46 yrs old. 7i -165, Driver - 260
COMPARISON MFG - Cally, Mizuno, Titleist,
CLUB DESIGN - Good weighted club, nice topline. For those of you that remember the W/S irons of old, this is as close as the topline can get in a cavity back.
ROUGH - comes out with less effort than other clubs. Lower boring flight than other clubs tested, produces more roll.
FAIRWAY - Straight flight, easier to move left and right. 4i-6i higher flight than clubs tested. 7i - PW lower flight.
DISTANCE - Averaged 8-10 yards with each club Strong lofts added 5 yards to 8i-PW, 10 yards to 7i-4i
MIS-HITS - Very forgiving. Toe and heel shots loss maybe 5-8 yards.
WHY I BOUGHT - Money is important. For the money this is the best set on the market that allowed me to add distance, workability and update a decade old set.
The difference between cally x22 tours, and these was negligible, but the cost difference was almost $50
First, Mikebabjak, who reviewed timothyis not all accurate. These irons were designed for the lower handicapper. The swing weight of the Ci7 is D2 where as the Di7 is a D4. The Di7 is like swinging a brick. Their new Di9 is a D2 weight. The Ci7 will definitely bring a HIGHER ball flight and can work it.
I have always played Wilson clubs for the past 30 years. My most recent set were the original wilson fat shafts with graphite shafts. I absolutely loved these clubs. Lost my 8 iron last year. (good excuse for wife to give me aproval to purchase a new set this year) Over the winter I hit probably 10 diferent iron sets including the Di7 and settled on the Wilson Ci7 irons with graphite shaft. Substituted the 4 iron for the 4fybrid. After about 5 rounds and several trips to the practise range I am very pleased with my new irons. Distance is about the same as my original fat shafts. Nice high ball flight and can work the ball either way. Clubs feel very good at address and gives one a lot of confidence. Lots of positive comments from friends on the clubs appearance. I am very pleased with my purchase.
