Win, Lose or Draw Television Game

New Twist to an Old Board Game

Dawn Grubbs
Win, Lose or Draw started out as a television show. They put teams of people against each other. They would be given a word or phrase and one of the team would go up to a board and draw pictures to get their team mates to guess the word. This was a way of playing charades with drawing instead of acting out. The game was fast pace and a lot of fun to watch.

This idea was then taken and made into a board game. With the board game comes with a pad of paper. You have to use the paper to draw your pictures on and show your team mates. The words were written on cards and you would choose a card before starting to draw. The board came included a sand timer with it. I found that the board game was fun as well. In stead of using paper we would use a chalk board. This game was a lot of fun for the whole family.

Since we liked the board game so much I decided to buy the Win, Lose or Draw game that plugs into the television set. I thought with the pictures on the television the game would be easier.

With this game it is a touch pad that plugs directly into your television. The game then comes up on the television. All connections are included. The pad is small and fits in the palm of your hands. There is a small pen that is attached to the pad. With this pen you will draw on the pad and it will appear on your television. The problem with this is that the pad doesn't actually do what you want it too. It is very hard to draw a straight line on the pad. If you need to move your pen to another point you can forget it. Once you stop drawing it is hard to find the next point on the pad. If you think you are at the top of the pad then you are at the bottom of the television. The process getting the pad to look like what you are actually seeing on the television is hard. I tried to draw a stick person and the arms where up with where the head belongs. I thought this would be easier than it really is.

There is also a timer built into the game that every one can see on the screen. You can also set the game to what level you would like. You can set the length of the game from short to normal to long that is from five turns to fifteen turns. Team A, difficulty and then team B, difficulty are the other settings. You can set these at easy, normal and hard.

Your words that you must draw are on the pad that only you can see. I found that the word this system uses are very hard to draw. They are not giving you just nouns. They also give you verbs and adverbs to draw. I found it hard to draw pretty. The game cost was $29.99. I think this is a lot of money for a game that doesn't actually work like it says it should.

With Christmas right around the corner it is good to have ideas of what games are good and what games are not. If you liked the game show Win, Lose or Draw stick with the board game, it is much cheaper and a lot more fun. The new video draw system for Win, Lose or Draw is a big waste of money.

Sounds interesting. I never knew they made this into a game, but seems they all become one. We got deal or no deal at walgreens a few years ago.

When my daughter was younger she had a stand alone chalk board and that is what we used to play win loose or draw. We had a great family night with the board game.

That's too bad as it was a fun game. My kids love those TV games and this is one I would have thought about buying. Thanks for the heads up.
