Winchester Medical Center is very deserving of this award. I have had many experiences at the Winchester Medical Center over the past 4 years and every time they have been outstanding in care and reasonable in price.
Both of my daughters were born at Winchester Medical Center. During my pregnancy and delivery the staff at Winchester Medical Center was outstanding. They were kind and caring, knowledgeable and reassuring. They have a wonderful birthing facility and the classes that they offer are very educational. They staff that teaches the birthing classes and breast feeding class are there in the hospital when you give birth. You have that reassurance that a friend is always close by for guidance. They will come in and meet with you before you are sent home to make sure that you are comfortable and will help with any difficulties you may be having.
With the birth of my second daughter, which was a planned c-section, the birthing center called me the night before to see if I had any questions about the next day and to remind me to bring anything special I wanted done for the baby book. They took time to take a picture for my husband and I of the three of us during the delivery since we were unable given it was a c-section. Of course, we were not in need of the classes the second time around, but the lactation specialist still checked in with us and remember us from 3 years before. I throughly enjoyed my birthing experience at Winchester Medical Center and would suggest any one given birth in the area to check them out.
I more recently had an experience at this hospital when my youngest was hospitalized at 17 months. The nurses were absolutely wonderful. They were understanding of the stress that we were all under. They brought not only my daughter drinks, but my husband and I sodas as well. They made sure that we had towels for showering and even brought us shampoo and soap. They went way beyond what I expected. The hospital also has a program where if your child is in the hospital they bring you a mommy tray as well as a patient tray for meals. I never had to leave my daughter's room. The nurses gave me the information from her labs as soon as they got them and I was never left questioning what was going on.
I have also on occasion had to bring both of my daughters to the Emergency room at Winchester Medical Center. The staff in the E.R. is also wonderful.
With all the bills I have received from Winchester Medical Center none of them have been outrageous. I have received bills from other hospital where it leaves me questioning what they were billing me for, but this is not the case with Winchester.
I highly recommend if you live in the Winchester or surrounding areas to take advantage of Winchester Medical Center for all your medical needs. The have a wonderful facility and is rated one of the best in the country.
