Windex Original Glass Cleaner by SC Johnson - Great for Chrome
My Experience with Windex and Why I Think it is the Best Chrome Cleaner Around
It all started on a day when I decided to wash my bike. I took some nice, soapy water, dipped my cloth in it and began to apply the sudsy mixture to my bike. I then used the hose to spray my bike clean and used a towel to dry it off. After completing all of the necessary steps, my bike still did not look clean to me. I began looking at it carefully and realized it was the chrome that gave the bike a dull appearance. In spite of all my efforts, the chrome was still dull, dingy, rusty, and crusty! I didn't have any chrome cleaner or polisher, so I left it looking the way it was.
One day, I had to take my bike to a shop to have my rear tire adjusted. While I was at the bike shop I asked the owner of the shop what I should use to polish the chrome on my bike. He said, "Use Windex." I stood there in disbelief and thought, Windex? I really could not believe it. He said "Yah, Windex." He told me to get a brillo pad, spray the chrome on my bike with Windex, and then scrub the chrome with a brillo pad.
I left the bike store so excited with this new information. The first chance I got, I sprayed the chrome on my bike with Windex, scrubbed the chrome with the brillo pad and Voila! The Chrome was clean as a whistle. The rust was gone and it wasn't dull, dingy, rusty, and crusty anymore! It was so SHINY. I absolutely loved it. The bike had not looked that great since I had first gotten it.
You see, the secret ingredient in the Windex that cleans the chrome so well is Ammonia. That one ingredient is what helps take rust and dirt off of any kind of chrome. Along with slight scrubbing with the brillo pad, your chrome will look clean and shiny! Windex also cleans glass, porcelain, countertops, and stainless steel. You can even use it to clean the chrome on your car. It really works!
So, the next time you see a bottle of Windex, and you think that you can only use it on windows. Think again. That one bottle of Windex can be used for so much more.
It comes in a 32 oz. spray bottle that you can find at almost any supermarket and ranges in price from $5.40 to $14.46. You can also find it on Amazon.com and Dealtime.com.
