Windows Live Spaces Blog Vs MySpace Blog

Windows Live Spaces is a lot like MySpace and though both have loads of extra aspects, this article is only about the blog aspect of each.

Both MySpace and Windows Live have smile icons, font adjustments from color to size, alignmen, style, and both have the ability to insert images. The only problem with inserting images into Windows Live Spaces is, it creates yet another photo album for those pictures titled "blog pictures". I have no idea why it does this but it does, and it makes that photo album above whatever album you had displaying for each new visitor. It will only do this photo album creation once though as well as moving it. Once the album has been created and placed where you wish, you will not encounter this problem again.

MySpace's blog offers you the ability to change your date and time of your blog entry. This is very convenient should your whole blog have been deleted, or you haven't had time to do an entry at a certain date and time. I find this to be the most useful feature of MySpace blogs or any blog for that matter. I personally have often wanted, or needed to back date an entry, or even bring one forward. I have tried countless times to change Windows Live Space's date and time and even contacted them about this option. Needless to say, I got no where. Not shocked huh? Neither am I.

MySpace blog entries also allow you to see how many views your entry is getting, Windows Live Spaces lacks at this. Another nice feature that MySpace has that Windows Live Spaces lacks is the ability to make it private, friends, certain people or just plain public. I really do wish that Windows Live Spaces had this option because there are things I'd like to post there that are only to those subscribers, after all not everyone has a MySpace.

Windows Live Spaces blogs, allow you to put counters, MySpace Blogs do not. MySpace has this option blocked. Having a person counter that includes tracking gives you more information then MySpace offers its users.

I guess the main differences between MySpace and Windows Live Spaces is that one is basically only a blog and the other is just fun and games and has the extra bonus of blog entries. Until Live Spaces expands or changes it will always be second to MySpace, which believe me is hard for me to admit the lesser of the two evils. Each site has their pros and cons much like anything unless you created it yourself to your wishes, wants and needs. It's weighing them that will tell you which one best meets your needs. Perhaps using both separately like I do will help solve the problems between them both.
