Operating systems are made for business, at home use, office use, and many other functions of use. So obviously, there are different levels of operating systems for different people.
Windows 95 and 98 were quite popular for some time, because they were some of the first windows operating systems. People were amazed at the functions these operating systems had. Color games. Graphics. Command line programming. Word processing. Amazing features back in the day.
Now, there are even more features available to the public. The newest operating system is named Windows Vista. This is considered to be the "best" operating system by the Microsoft company, and has gained support of most computer manufacturers, for some reason. All new computers being sold after the release date of Windows Vista only contain some version of the Windows Vista operating system.
This is extremely annoying. I preferred windows XP for many reasons. I'm sure you already know why XP is such a better operating system, but for legitimacy, I'll give you a side-by-side comparison.
Operating Speed
Operating speed is very important when it comes to a computer. You want to perform the fastest to increase efficiency and overall satisfaction. Vista takes up much more memory from your computer, therefore causing it to go slower. Windows XP has a much higher operating speed on lower computer specifications because it takes so much less to run.
Graphics / Enhancements
This is about the only place where Vista has XP beat. Vista does look cooler, and is laid out with much more stylish enhancements. However, these enhancements are going to cause the operating system to run much slower than one without these features, therefore eliminating the purpose of the operating system.
Ease of Use
Vista is supposed to be easier to use. However, most people who have used both operating systems disagree. XP is much faster, and easier to get around. Vista is somewhat unorganized, and unprofessionally setup. I prefer XP in this aspect as well.
Gaming
If you're someone who likes to play games, you're definitely not going to want to try and use Windows Vista. Vista causes games to operate at much slower speeds, because of the fact that Vista takes up a great portion of your RAM without even having a game present, and then the presence of a game even further complicates matters.
Overall, I prefer Windows XP for the main reason that it performs much more quickly and efficiently than all versions of Windows Vista. The real trouble comes in downgrading from Vista to XP; Good luck finding drivers to get your computer working again!

Post a CommentYour argument is no less valid than anyone's however, I highly doubt most people agree with you. If vista was so great, Microsoft wouldn't have been forced to make another operating system soon after to fix problems.
Serously I think we all know or should know that over all Windows Vista is over all better then Windows XP. One reason is because Windows Vista only takes up more space because it has way better graphics, security... I know Windows Vista had/has problems but they can be fixed. Just think back when Windows XP was made rember how many problems there were. So dont go putting Vista when its overall better. Also Vista is faster when it comes to restarting your computer. Anyone who is running on XP please don't go judging Vista because you haven't tried it. The minor bugs will be solved soon. I have used both XP and Vista and i have asked many other people and once again most people agree Vista is better than XP.
