I tried to build a house
One day
Made it pretty from
Red clay,
Sat it in a beautiful
Place
Where approval glistened
Onlookers face.
Then one day the winds
Did blow,
Tossing my little house
To and fro.
Friends I sought, but none
Could find
To help me through this
Terrible time.
Alone I trembled, bound
With fear
Sitting defeated,
Drenched with tears.
In agony I looked for a
Helping hand
To wedge my dream from the
Sinking sand.
At last the answer became clear
To me
I bowed my head and bent
My knee.
Had I taken the time
To pray and look,
I'd see His plan for me in the
Holy Book.
Now freed from pride I seek
The Way;
Not caring at all what others
May say.
I choose to build using
His map-
Lest I fall again in Satan's
Death trap.
