Some of the best wines in the world come from the vineyards in the Southwest of France. With the fields of pure soil and fresh grapes, the wine produce is amazing, and then the aging process on top of that make for some of the best compliments to any meal you would like to have a glass of wine with.

Here are some of the top rated wines that have been produced in the vineyards in the Southwest of France:

Bergerac - This red version on Bergerac wine is very aromatic with scents of black fruits, red fruits and vanilla. The taste of this wine is out of this world due to its variety of different grapes used. This red wine is known for its fresh and fruity taste. Bergerac also comes in a white wine which is very dry and full of different tastes that can confuse your taste buds. Bergerac is best after aging at least two years. This wine is produced in the East of Bordeaux Vineyards which is located along the Dordogne River. In the red wine you'll find, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet France, Merlot and Malbec grapes. In the white wine you'll find, Semillion, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle grapes. Bergerac Red goes best with chicken, and the white goes best with fish. Buzet - Buzet comes from the Vineyards at the South of Pau. The popular grapes used in this wine give it tons of body and flavor. Buzet also comes in a red and white wine, but have different grapes for both of those wines. This wine is best aged for up to years, and gives off wonderful aromas of black currant, cherry and vanilla. Both of these wines are a great pair with rabbit, chicken, veal, beef and lamb. Chaors - This powerful red wine is recommended to be aged a few years before drinking. Drinking this wine at a young age can give off a harsh taste. Chaors was produced in the vineyards of Vir sur Lot. The grapes used in this wine are Cot, Merlot, and Tannat. When a bottle of Chaors is uncorked, aromas of spices, coffee and black fruits fill the air. You can pair this wine up best with duck, goose, couscous and mushrooms. Gaillac - This unique wine comes in, white, red, or rose. Production of the wine comes from the vineyards of the Tarn District, West of Albi City. The red wine contains Duras, Fer, Syrah & Cabernet grapes. The white Gaillac whine contains Len de l'el, Mauzac, and Muscadelle grapes, and the rose wine contains Mauzac grapes. The red version of the wine is known to be very rustic, while the white is known for its aromatic scents. All three versions are very sweet, sparkling and rich. It is recommended that the red win is aged for up to 5 years. The white is best to drink at a young age. As for aromas, the red gives off a violet, red fruit and licorice combination of scents. The white gives off a flowery, honey and citrus scent, and the rose gives off a citrus and fig scent. This wine is paired best with raw vegetables, BBQ, veal and stews. Madiran - Madiran is produced at a vineyard near the Pyrenees Mountains at Maumusson. This red wine needs to be aged for a few years to avoid a harsh and acidic taste that it has in the early years. There are a few different grapes in this wine, which consist of Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Fer Servadou. As for the nose, you will smell a variety of aromas, such as black fruits, spices and grilled bread. Madiran goes best with roasted duck or goose.
