Wine of the Month Club: A Great Value for Any Budget

I joined Wine of the Month Club 4 years ago when I saw their booth at our local fair. I was not a wine connoisseur but the price was right and I figured I would learn as I went. I loved it. Wine of the Month Club was a great club to belong to. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my membership when I became pregnant and I was sad.

Now 4 years later, I have come across the same Wine of the Month Club booth at the same fair and decided, why not? I really enjoyed receiving the packages of wine every month. It was like Christmas. So I renewed my membership and within 4 days, I received my first shipment.

Wine of the Month Club is a great little club that definitely caters to its members. There are three levels of membership - Regular series, Limited series and Vintners series. The prices are not drastically different between the three so you can reasonably purchase the Limited series, feel like a wine pro and not get ripped off.

Wine of the Month Club sends out 2 wines a month - a red and a white (you can choose to receive all white or all red as well) - and one will be from a California vineyard while the other is from an international vineyard. So you get to taste a little bit of the entire world. I have always wanted to taste a nice Italian wine and lucky for me, there was a bottle of 2002 Ramione Baglio Di Pianetto Merlot/Nero d'Avola from Sicily, Italy in my first shipment.

The one thing that I think won me over with Wine of the Month Club is the literature that they send with every shipment. In it they give you a write up on each bottle of wine you are receiving in the series you purchased, as well as what Wine of the Month Club is shipping out for the three different series. In the write up, they describe the vineyard's history, the year the wine was bottled, the scent and taste of the wine, how it is pronounced, cellaring suggestions (how long it can be shelved for), as well as food pairings that they consider to be perfect for the wine.

Also, Wine of the Month Club gives you great prices on any wine favorites that you have tasted in case you want to re-order and in the back of the literature they have recipes for the food pairings that were suggested.

Wine of the Month Club also offers Tasting Events that members can attend and also will host Wine of the Month Club tasting parties if you want to gather your friends together.

Since I am no expert, I really enjoy reading up on my wine and when I talk to my party guests about each wine I sound like a wine connoisseur. I'm impressed by their monthly selections and feel like I can truly hold my own in the wine world. Thanks Wine of the Month Club!
