Wineries and Vineyards in North Carolina

Touring wineries and tasting different types of wines can be a pleasureable experience. All wineries are different and have different policies. Before visiting a winery, find out what the visiting hours are, the charge to taste the wines and whether it's proper to spit or not. Some wineries are open to the public and some are not. Others recommend calling ahead of time. Some wineries will reimburse the tasting fee if you purchase a bottle of wine. When tasting wines, you might be expected to spit out the wine after tasting it. There will be a barrell provided or you may be asked to spit the wine onto the ground.
