Winner of the Purple Haiku Contest

James Kerley
A huge thank you to everyone you submitted a haiku for this fun contest! We received over 1000 submissions for this contest, making it the most successful haiku contest in Associated Content history. We also had a ton of fun reading these, and it seemed like you did too!

Unfortunately we can only select one winner, but it seemed like our community really enjoyed this contest, and it was great to see everyone sharing their work.

And without further ado, the winner is...

Science, Purple, and Poetry by Angela Pender. Angela provided a viewpoint of the color purple that we've certainly never thought about before. This was just the 5th piece of content Angela has published with Associated Content. Hopefully there will be many, many more!

This was a very, very tough choice! Thank you so much to our community for taking part and especially for having so much fun with contest.

And remember, there will be many more fun contests to come!

interesting that the choice of haiku subjects was :purple: according to Terrence Helms, an up-and coming Pittsburgh poet, there a new trend amongst todays poets to publish entire books on a color, or a sound, or some other simple sensory input. I wonder if this was influenced by that trend.
