All country fans know that the CMA Awards is known as country music's biggest night. Here is a breakdown of who won and preformed this year.

It looks like Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood are at the top of the country music chain.

Chesney won his third entertainer of the year award. He also shared a win with Tracy Lawrence and Tim McGraw for the music event, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are." Chesney preformed an unbelievable song of choice, "Don't Blink" from his newest album, "Just Who I AM: Poets and Pirates."

Chesney said, "I love Country Music and I love doing what I do," Reported the Country Music Association.

Underwood has been named female vocalist of they year and also received an award for her single hit, "Before He Cheats." She tearfully thanked her family, friends and fans; in her short lived career she still seems to be soaking in her quick raise to fame.

"Here I go again, the waterworks have started," an emotional Underwood said. "If you had told me years ago that I would be nominated with the people I was nominated with I would have thought you were insane," Reported the Country Music Association.

Underwood also preformed a hit, "So Small," off her second album, "Carnival Ride."

Brad Paisley walked away with male vocalist of the year. His song, "Online" also won music video of the year. He thanked his father and even teared up as he expressed how honored and thankful he was for this award.

"I can't tell you what this means to me," Paisley said. "I have always wanted to win it once and this will do," Reported the Country Music Association.

Paisley performed "Online" while Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift joined him on-stage and danced with members of Brentwood High School Marching Band.

Sugarland broke Brooks and Dunn's long-standing lock on the award for vocal duo of the year. Brooks and Dunn have won 14 of 15 awards for the duo category - way to go Sugarland for making the big break and stealing the vocal duo of the year!

"All of our success," said Nettles, "it's because we are standing on the shoulders of giants. We are happy to be receiving this Award," Reported the Country Music Association.

Sugarland sang their hearts out to "Stay," a song from their Platinum album "Enjoy the Ride."

Taylor Swift won newcomer of the year, at only 17-years-old, she has already accomplished so much in her teen years and I assume we will see her go much further in the years to come.

"I can't even believe that this is real," the high school senior said. "I want to thank God and my family for moving to Nashville so I could do this. The fans - you have changed my life. This is definitely the highlight of my senior year!" Reported the Country Music Association.

Swift performed "Our Song" off her album before she accepted her newcomer award.

Rascal Flatts won top vocal group of the year and I have to say I am very pleased to see this since they are my favorite country group. Rascal Flatts were chosen to open the show with "Still Feels Good" off their newest album and later closed the show with a duet with Jamie Foxx, Academy Award-winning actor of "Ray."

George Straight did very well at the CMA's. His album, "It Just Comes Natural," won top album of the year and his song, "Give It Away," won top song of the year. This was Straight's sixth album of the year award.

"Of all of the Awards I was nominated for tonight, this was the one I wanted to win the most," Strait said, Reported the Country Music Association.

Straight performed his all-time popular song, "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls," from his album "It Just Comes Natural."

Other winners include Jerry Douglas of Union Station as musician of the year.
