Winnie the Pooh Stargazer Playhouse

Gaze at the Stars with Winnie the Pooh

L
Since my daughter was an infant, she has always been a Pooh fan. This could partly be because we have had Pooh around since the first day we brought her home. Even to this day her favorites dvds are a toss up between Barbie and Winnie the Pooh. A while back, I spotted Winnie the Pooh Stargazer Playhouse in a local toy store at the mall for $21.99. At the time, my little one already had a Barbie tent that wasn't holding up as well as we would have liked. I knew that a another playhouse/tent would be in order soon so I went ahead and purchased the Pooh Playhouse. I can say I am very glad I didn't hold off on this purchase (I recently recommended this to a friend and she cannot find it anywhere).

Winnie the Pooh and his Stargazer Playhouse

Winnie the Pooh Stargazer Playhouse is basically a play tent for children and toddlers. The tent itself is vinyl, durable, flame resistant, and pleasant to look at. It comes in a dark purple color and has glow in the dark stars all around it. The color of the stars range from purple, white, and yellow. Pooh and friends decorate the bottom half of the tent. They are smiling and gazing into the sky (even Eeyore seems to be a bit cheerful. Although of course, we are only getting a half smile if even that). There is a constellation in the sky that resembles Tigger's face which glows as well. The setting looks like Pooh and friends are in the Hundred Acre Woods getting ready for a night of fun star gazing.

Assembly of the playhouse could not get any easier. There is an elastic cord on the interior of the playhouse that holds together tubes. You simply slide the tubes into the appropriate slots in the inside of the playhouse (across the top and down all the sides). Within minutes the playhouse is put together with these easy steps. The playhouse is roughly about 40"x30"x44" after assembled. Once the tubes have been properly inserted, children are ready to play in the playhouse. There is an easy entry on the front of which is actually just a long slit through the playhouse that children can easily crawl right through. When the slit is closed, it looks as if it isn't even there. On the back side, there is a window in which children can gaze out of. There is no bottom or floor with the playhouse, so tossing a sleeping bag in there works great for my daughter. Of course this isn't necessary but my daughter seems to enjoy it.

Thoughts and experiences with the Winnie the Pooh Stargazer Playhouse

First of all, the playhouse is just adorable. I have it sitting in my daughter's room and when her friends come over, they usually run directly to it. The colors are vivid and eye catching. When the lights are out, the stars glow extremely bright. This is Haleigh's absolute favorite part of the tent. She is into anything that glows in the dark. At night, the tent is used also as sort of a night light for her. I myself crawled into the tent. Although I could fit in there, it does tend to get a little squishy for grown ups. Young children usually don't have a problem with this as long as there no more than 2 (possibly 3) at a time. Once inside, the tent is dark even in the daytime. At night, the tent is of course is pitch black with just the stars glowing above. It really does look realistic and I think it is wonderful for a child's imagination.

Another thing that I really enjoy about the tent is that there is a window that children can peer out of or cover up. My daughter's previous tent did not have this feature. She would get hot when in her old tent for a while. With the new Pooh playhouse, she can open up the window and actually sleep through the night in there. The tent is sturdy for the most part as well. However, too much jumping and roughhousing can and will knock the tent over (it is very light). Older children cannot stand up in the tent, but children 3 feet and under shouldn't have a problem.

Final Recommendation

The only thing that I can find wrong with this playhouse is that children will eventually outgrow it. Other than that, the playhouse has been a constant source of entertainment for my daughter, her cousins, her friends, and yes I admit, me too. Nothing has ever broken or torn and the glowing lights still glow as well as they did when I assembled the product (putting the playhouse directly under a bright light will help them last through out the night). Therefore, I can 100% recommend Winnie the Pooh Stargazer Playhouse .
