Winter 2010 Wedding Hairstyles - Dramatic and Romantic

Eisla Sebastian
Selecting a wedding hairstyle for a winter wedding is slightly more difficult than selecting a hairstyle for a spring or summer wedding. This is because you have to deal with severe climatic conditions that can include cold temperatures and low humidity. Both of these factors can lead to hair disasters on your wedding day. Fortunately, there are things you can do to create the perfect winter wedding hairstyle even when facing harsh weather conditions.

Winter Wedding Hairstyle #1 - Long Soft Curls

The fall/winter fashion season of 2009-2010 is all about romance and drama. This means that many winter brides are going to select wedding dresses that are inspired by Renaissance romance. A great hairstyle to pair with this type of look is long soft curls. This look will allow you to overcome climate concerns by using anti-frizz and curl enhancing products like John Freida Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Curl Perfector and One 'n Only Frizz Remover. To create this look you will wash your hair, towel dry it, apply your anti-frizz and curl enhancing products and scrunch the ends of your hair to create soft curls. You can then define your curls using a curling iron or by wrapping segments of your hair around your finger and blowing it dry.

Winter Wedding Hairstyle #2 - Dramatic Ponytail

Another dramatic look that you can wear for a winter wedding is a dramatic ponytail. This look is created by pulling all of your hair back into a ponytail. This ponytail needs to be tight and your hair needs to be slicked back. You can then wear dramatic makeup like a dark red lipstick to enhance your classic beauty look.

Winter Wedding Hairstyle #3 - Classic Upsweep

A classic upsweep will also compliment the romantic/gothic styles of the fall/winter 2009-2010 wedding fashion season. For this look all you have to do is pull the sides of your hair up and fasten them in place with decorative combs and pins. You can then either leave the back of your hair down for a youthful look, or you can pull the back of your hair up into a French Twist or into a braid. You can further decorate your hair using flowers, bling and decorative hair ties.

Winter Wedding Hairstyle #4 - Straight and Dramatic

If you are looking for a very dramatic look then consider wearing your hair down and straightened. This look can be both soft and dramatic depending on how you accessorize your hair. To create a soft look you can straighten your hair using an anti-frizz hair product and a straightening iron and then wear a head piece that is decorative in a soft palette of flowers. Keep your makeup soft and sweet. On the other hand, if you want an edgier or more dramatic look then you will want to accent your straight hairstyle with a more flamboyant headpiece and more intense make-up.
