winter again
and all i want is sleep
to peel back the black edges
of waking up again
poke holes in the sun and let the fire
burn into my skin
four in the morning conversations
pulling away is not the same
as wanting you to go
i am terrified of living through this
terrified to breathe
the light is nothing like it should be
lying, bold facetious
captured viciously between the early and the evening
hours
taunts you through the window
promises the day has
no intent
to keep
the quiet is the only thing
that makes this bearable.
