Vail Colorado has a population of approximately 4,589, (taken from 2006 census). Vail was established in 1966 at the base of Vail Ski Resort, which opened in 1962. Vail is popular for it's skiing, and other winter sports, as well as for being a year round destination for outdoor activities. During ski season, Vails population number rises to around 40,000, according to E-how.com.
One look at Vail Colorado and you know why it is such a popular ski resort. Being such a popular ski resort tends to make a town very expensive. Vail is no exception to that one with some vacation rentals costing as much as hundreds, even thousands per night! Not to worry if you are wanting to take a ski trip to Vail Colorado, because I am going to show you where to find lodging in Vail that will put a smile on your face.
Vail has a free shuttle service which transports people from their hotel to the slopes from anywhere in Vail. So there is no need to spend a lot of money for lodging on the slopes. Stay a few miles away, shuttle in, and save the money for a nice steak dinner!
