Winter is Coming in England

Denise Larkin
Late bright evenings in England
Are nearly at an end
Early dark nights
Will be a trend.

Cold wintry English nights
Are getting nearer
Heating will be used
Warming us all up.

White icy roads in London
Will soon bring snow
A new coat will be needed
To keep me warmed up.

Shivering days to come
Rain and ice without fail
For snow will soon fall
For snow balls to throw.

Bright Christmas lights in London
To brighten dark days
Presents to be wrapped
And given with love and joy.

A merry time In winter's English snow
Christmas tree lights brighten our days
For carols to sing and enjoy
Bringing family gatherings to attend.

Brings back memories of my winters in the UK. Pea coats, wool hats, and umbrellas. ;-)

I actually miss British winters. That's one of the reasons why I tend to come home during winter rather than during the warmer months. By that time, I need to see a change in season.

Very nice - the poem that is - not the thought of it getting colder. It's definitely been chilly the past week, and our central heating doesn't want to work either.
