Winter Far Afield

Deb Martin-Webster
Leaves collect quietly in pasture hollows,
Far beyond the limbs of their spring birth
Beginning green then to blaze, tell their story of winter's certainty.
Perhaps the chill has left them frail, fluttering helpless against the howling winds.
To destination far beyond the pasture others nestle in.
