The Sacramento area is known for an abundance of farmer's markets during the spring and summer seasons. Farm fresh produce is available during winter months in the Sacramento region too both in open air markets and at selected local grocers. In fact, the area is renown for some of its winter specialties like mandarin oranges, persimmons and squash. At some locations, winter crafts, festive potpourris, and gift ideas are available too.

Auburn, CA - Auburn Old Town Farmers Market Located at Auburn-Folsom Rd. and Lincoln Wy. .across from the courthouse, this market is open year-round. From April to December the market operates on Saturdays from 8a.m. to 12:00 noon. From January through March it is held on Saturdays from 9:00a.m. to 12:00 noon. Loomis, CA - The Blue Goose This small produce market is located in the old fruit sheds at the corner of King Rd. and Taylor Rd. in Loomis. It has a small selection of very high quality local produce including locally raised grass fed meats like lamb and beef. Cage-free eggs are sold here as well.
