Winter Fire

Dusti Sparks-Myers
The wind holds sway on muddled skies.
The sky shivers in glacial cold.
The house lingers in drifting snowflakes.
The cold begins dancing to a hidden fire.

The debris drifts over the house's pain.
The sky calls forth black sorrow.
The cold bathes in the burning's smoke.
The house dances to unfrozen fire.

The sky screams as the wind heats.
The debris lifting on drifting smoke.
The burning blackened with remains.
A red flame calls forth steaming sorrow.

The ashes drift over speckled snowflakes.
The debris layered on barren ice.
The roar of fire more than punishing pain.
A red flame ponders the cold's ire.

The burning blackened - smoke in sky's eye.
The debris blackened by smoke - frozen water.
The wind bathes in water of barren punishment.
A firefighter dwells on the fire with freezing tears.

The morning ponders chilling cold
As the house turns to ice.
The debris flickers with heated flames.
The roar of fire and smoke make painful tears.

The wind blackened by smoke - ice freezing in agony.
The morning calls forth swirling ice and frozen tears.
The house aches as punishing sorrow and ashes smoke.
A firefighter shivers while hosing water on the flames.

The house now covered in morning's ice.
A firefighter shivers in reflective heat.
The house aches for relief of roaring water.
Dwelling on the punishment of life.
