Winter Fun and Winter Activities like Camping, Sledding and Skating
There Are Many Activities You Can Do in the Winter to Keep Your Spirits Up
Indoor Camping
For those who are stuck in areas where going outside is an insurmountable task, indoor camping is a great idea. Set up a tent in the middle of the room. If you have a fireplace to set it near, even better. Turn off all the lights in the house and unplug everything for the night, including the computer, television and phone. Throw in a bunch of pillows to sit or lounge on and a few sleeping bags. Bring in a bunch of board and card games and make it a family night. Bring in snacks and make hot chocolate in a thermos to bring along. If you have a fireplace, break out chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows for mouth-watering s'mores. This idea is great for families and couples who want to create an imaginative date night.
Snowball Fights
There is always the traditional snowball fight to keep everyone entertained for the day. Only this time, go the whole way and build a big snow castle or fort, and figure out different creatures you can build. Better yet, invite friends and family over and create two forts and have a mock war.
Snow Creature Construction:
Get creative and branch out from the regular snowman and think about all the creatures you can create. Get adventurous with spray paint, food coloring and kool aid, which you can use to color your creations. Colors are also a great way to liven up your white, snow covered yard.
Cross-Country Skiing
If you have cross-country skis or can get your hands on some, they are a good way to have fun and get some exercise. You can ski whether you live in the country or the snow covered city.
Snow Shoeing
This is an excellent way to try something new. Rent some or create your own by strapping old rackets to your feet. You can find old tennis and racquetball rackets at thrift stores and snowshoes are available at most outdoor stores and ski/snowboard rental shops. If you have snow shoes already, liven up your fun by playing tag or hide-and-go seek in snowshoes. Challenging, but lots of fun.
Ice-Skating
A wintertime favorite, ice-skating is another traditional activity that is a lot of fun. Go to the local rink, and if it's safe, check out the local pond. Ice-skating is a great way to have fun and get some exercise, whether you're a pro or a beginner.
Sledding
If you live in a hilly area or near one, sledding guarantees a great time. An easy activity for everyone, sledding is another way to get out and enjoy winter snows.
Dancing, Fitness Classes, and More
If you can drive or even walk to your local gym and workout center, they probably offer a number of martial arts, dance, and fitness classes that will keep your endorphins high and your body healthy throughout the winter season. Dance clubs, classes and events are great ways to get out and escape the weather, and many of them often have childcare. Your local Y and even your fitness center may have heated indoor pools, and they are a great place to get some exercise alone or with your kids.
These are all excellent ways to enjoy the winter season and enjoy its myriad possibilities. Stay creative and come up with some ideas of your own. Winter is as fun as you make it no matter where you live. With a good attitude, a willing soul, and a little creativitiy, you can turn winter into a season that truly brings you joy.

Ugg boots (sometimes referred to as uggs or ug boots)are a style of sheepskin boot, with wool as the inner lining and a tanned outer surface worn by both men and women. Ugg boots often have a synthetic sole, although this is not universal. Uggs have been identified as a fashion trend since the early 2000s.
