Winter is Here

Terri Deno
The snow is falling

Near the first of the year

It floats around

In the light gray sky

Landing softly upon the faded grass

Streams of white flakes

Fall in syncopated rhythms

As the wind blows stronger

The white tones become brighter

It is now known

That winter is here.
