Winter is here and it's not taking it easy on any of us, especially our furry pet friends. You wouldn't send your child outside without a jacket or sweater, so why should the family pet have to suffer? Just because an animal has fur on their body does not necessarily mean that it is sufficient enough to keep the pet animal warm.

The Doberman Pinscher dog is a very strong and active dog breed, but they can still shiver and get cold just like any other dog. Any animal will suffer if left outside for long periods of time when the temperature drops. The Doberman Pinscher dog is a strong breed mentally and physically, but even a strong nature will not protect your loyal pet from the cold. Most dog sweaters vary in size from XS to XXL. Avoid any type of dog sweater or jacket labeled "one size" for your Doberman Pinscher, most likely they will not be large enough for an adult Doberman.

In places where there is snowfall during winter, dog boots are another necessary accessory for your dog. Stores like Pets Mart will let you bring in your dog to try things on before making a purchase. It is best to buy a dog sweater for your Doberman Pinscher dog that is a little too big because it will shrink just a little in the wash depending upon the material it is made from.
