You can plan some pretty unique weddings in the winter, and most are fairly easy to do.
1.Snowflake Winter Wedding Theme- there is a multitude of ideas for snowflake themed weddings. Light blue and frosty white is the best theme for a snowflake wedding. Blue and white create a cool look that will invoke a wintry atmosphere. The folks at Bliss Weddings Market are currently running a 40% off sale on winter wedding favors
They carry a large number of snowflake favors such as this great snowflake box. These little boxes would be perfect filled with light blue or white candy coated almonds.
These 3'' snowflake candle holders will look good on a centerpiece of evergreen tipped in snow spray as depicted in the photo at Bliss Weddings Market.
When decorating with a snowflake theme, don't use heavy fabrics. You will want your fabrics light and wispy like a lightly falling snow. Watch for snowflake themed Christmas decorations.
1st Class Wedding Invitations has a nice line of snowflake designs for your invitations.
2. Victorian Winter Wedding Theme- is a great warm winter wedding. My daughter was married in the winter and we decorated in burgundy and pale pinks. The bride wore a warm ivory. It is possible to use warm heavy colors and materials in the cooler months and purchasing the clothes and materials in the summer in preparation will save a great deal. Don't forget to find a pair of Victorian wedding boots for the bride!
Decorate with twigs, berries and ever greens as well as taper candles everywhere. As with the snowflake theme, keep your eye open for Christmas decorations in your theme colors.
Decorate with crystal and warm metals. A Victorian style marriage certificate would be a nice touch, like the one here at Invitations By Dawn. This website also offers a great selection of Victorian style invitations.
3.Dreamy Winter White Wedding Theme - Many girls dream of a dreamy white winter wedding. Probably the simplest wedding of all and it can be the most glamorous. The secret is a plain white dress. The simpler, the better, strapless if you are comfortable with it and small straps if you are not. Top it all off with a thick, short, fur shrug made of snow white faux fur. Clutch in your hands flowers of a pale, subtle color and drip diamonds from your ears and around your neck. Glamour...pure and simple.
Cover your table with a shade slightly darker than your accent color and adorn the table with white centerpieces.
Your invitations can be anything you wish, but should be a simple white.
