Winters Night Secret

The Playful Bunnies

Kathleen Shaeffer
At night, quietly we were walking,
my grandson and me
when low and behold,
what did we see?

The bunnies were dancing
in the moonlight, so strong,
listening to the stillness
of natures sweet song.

They leap and they twirl,
starlight on the snow
their cute little foot prints
all in a row.

The snow like wind puffs
settle softly down,
while the precious, playing bunnies
are dancing around.

Harken you all,
the crystaline air
no one to disturb it
no one would dare.

Slowly they settle,
to settle theirselves
to mingle together
with fictional elves.

Slowly the light,
the sun starts to rise,
nothing has happened
" wink", a word to the wise.
