Wired-Marker 3.1.09020600 - Highlight Text on Webpages with This Firefox Plugin

Wired-Marker is a built in highlighter. This plugin lets you highlight anything with the color of your choice. When you highlight it, it will be saved until you delete it from the saved folder. For example, you highlight text with your choice of color and save it. Five days later you return to that site and that same text is still highlighted. That's because it was saved in the cache folder. You can erase the highlighted text by deleting that page from the cache. We will get further into that later in this article.

How to Install Wired-Marker Firefox Plugin

The Wired-Marker Firefox Plugin is free to use. You can install it in a couple of steps. To visit the Wired-Marker page, click here. On that page, you will need to click the Add to Firefox button. On the next page, you will need to click the Accept and Install button. Another box will open and you will need to click the Install button when it lights up. Then you will need to restart your browser for it to be completely installed.

How Does Wired-Marker Firefox Plugin Work?

After you open your browser back up, you will see the new link in the top menu of your browser. It will say, "Wired-Marker". Click that link and a menu will drop down. In the menu you will need to click Wired-Marker to open the highlighter. The highlighter will open on the left side of your browser. Click the plus sign beside local folder and click the plus sign beside the marker folder. Now you will see all of your highlighter colors. To highlight text, highlight the text with your mouse. Click the text you highlighted with your mouse and drag and drop it on the marker color of your choice. The text will then be highlighted with the color you chose. You will also notice the website was saved in the bottom panel of your Wired-Marker panel.

You can now browse away from the page and come back to see that it is still highlighted. To view the pages you have highlighted, click Wired-Marker in your menu, then click Marker and select the marker folder of your choice. When the folder expands, you will see the text you have saved. You can also change your settings for Wired-Marker by clicking Wired-Marker > Settings.

So, this is a great plugin to have for Firefox. Often times I read stuff and would love to highlight it, especially when I'm studying something.
