Wisconsin Dells is a Great Weekend Getaway for the Midwestern Family!

Wisconsin Dells is considered the #1 Vacation spot for Midwesterners. It is also the Midwest center for fun and is specifically designed to meet a variety of needs and wants for visitors.

The thing to do when planning a trip to the dells is to do exactly that. Plan! Research online for the specific sights you want to see and choose the dates and times in advance.

Among the several attractions located in the Dells is the Big Sky Twin Drive-In Theatres. The price is only $7 for adults and $4 for kids. There is also a Boo Canoe and Raft which rents out canoes and rafts from about $35-$95 per canoe.

There is also a Broadway Dinner Theatre located in the dells with tickets ranging around $40 for adults and $12 for children.

Building Bears & More is another attraction in the Dells with packages starting at $15.00.

There are also Dell Cruises beginning at $14.00 an hour. The cruises', facilitated by Captain Soma's Dells Cruises may include luncheon cruises, sunset cocktail cruises and Sunset Dinner Cruises.

There is also a Chicago Club Dinner Show at $40.00 for adults and $20 for children.

For those who love to golf, the Dells has a Christmas Mountain Village golf Course which includes carts and 18 holes of fun at $40.00

One of the many water parks located in the Dells is the Chula Vista Resort Indoor and Outdoor Water park. The price of tickets is approximately $30.00 for an all day indoor and outdoor pass. The Resort also features a Fab '50s Live show which includes dinner for $24.00. There is also a mini golf course at the Chula Vista Resort for only $4.50 to play 18 holes, or $7 for an unlimited Day Pass.

The Circus World Museum is also a great source of entertainment for visitors to the Dells.

One special feature located in the Dells is that of the Dells Boat Tours. Tours range from $15-$25 and include tours of the upper dells, lower dells and combination tours.

There are also Dells Jet Boat Adventures which include a dinner cruise. There is also a Dells Mining Company for $13 a bucket and a raceway park and star cinema.

Also located in the Dells is an Extreme World park. This includes bungee jumping, a castle of terror, an ejection seat, go-karts, a sky coaster, paintball arcade and terminal velocity. Each individual adventure ranges in price from $14 to $30.

There is also a Riding Stable for horse lovers which cost approximately $15 an hour.

If you are looking to save some cash on this vacation, be sure to visit the German Glockenspiel @ the Bavarian Village. This is a free admission event and also culturally educational.

The Dells also feature a Holiday Shores Water Sports rental which includes canoes, fishing boats, parasail rides, pontoon boats, ski boats and wave runners.

Another interesting sight to see in the Dells in the House on the Rock. Tours are approximately $11.50 an hour and provide an amazing scenic view.

Also in the Dells, just in case you were beginning to think there weren't enough things to do, there is a Knuckleheads Bowling & Family Entertainment Center which includes Bumper Cars, Spring Ride, Jump Around, Family Coaster, a 3d theatre, indoor-go carts and bowling.

My personal favorite attraction in Wisconsin Dells is Noah's Ark. This is more than just a water park and was formerly known as America's largest Water Park. An all day pass for adults is only $32.00 and discounts may frequently be found if you are looking in the right places.

Noah's Ark features 2 wave pools, dozens of water slides, a lazy river and an adventure river and more to do in a day than you can get to. It is a great idea to consider choosing a cloudy or overcast day to visit the park, as it is often quite crowded.

Also, remember to wear sunscreen at those all day parks! Summer burns can quickly take the fun out of a family vacation for those of us with fair skin!
