Wistful Wishes, Heavenly Help

Phaidra Glover
In longing for the quiet again

I find myself in want of olden days

When possibilities came running up to me

And I wore a string of oyster pearls to bed

But now the world's become a sheer tumult

Where I am driven by the need to drive

And every move provokes a violent rash

Never eased until I have accomplished

Those strengthening tasks which seek to transform me

Now and always, my prayers ascend to God

To Jesus His Son, the only Savior of souls

And to the Holy Spirit for my comfort

For their love and kindness hugs my weary frame

Gives me fortitude to cast off a face forlorn

And brings me confidence to see the end.

Wistful -- that is a beautifully sounding word, and just right in your title. Good work!
