Witchcraft Exposed: Just a Mind Trick

"When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire
-Deuteronomy 18:9-12a

The Bible and God are not loose when addressing witchcraft and sorcery. Witchcraft can be defined as the performance of magic forbidden by God for non-biblical ends. The word witchcraft is related to the old English word wiccian, "practice of magical arts." When a person became a witch, he or she entered into a pact with Satan to worship him. They deny God, the only and true Creator of heaven and earth. They deny their baptism with Jesus Christ, the son of God. They deny the worship formerly paid to God. They adhere to the devil and believe only in him. They are re-baptized in the devil's name.

I had experience with witchcraft. I challenged a self proclaimed "witch" to cast his most "powerful spell" on me to prove that Jesus is the Almighty God and that He would protect from any evil. I stood before this man or "witch" and took his best shot all while I prayed in faith to Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Now, this man suffers from a dibilitating disease since his childhood that imitates rheumatoid arthritis in his wrists and hands. As I prayed, I asked Jesus to save this man and bless him abundantly with the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit. Additionally, I asked Jesus to fill this man with tremendous happiness and with the desire to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. No sooner than I had finished praying, the man's hands began to deform painfully in front of my eyes. The man fell on his knees in pain and agony. I went to him to try and help him, but he refused to accept help from a Christian. I prayed for him again and it seemed as though his heart (and pain) began to soften up. His hands remained deformed but absent of pain. I approached him again and he allowed me to help him up. He was a towering man and as he looked down to me, he let loose a big smile and said with a grin, "I guess Jesus won, huh...?" I led him back into his house and he accepted Jesus in his heart as his personal Lord and Savior. I didn't feel victorious, I didn't feel festive, and I wasn't shocked or surprised. I wasn't anxious either and I wasn't hoping that Jesus would show up and show off. I knew Jesus was going to intervene. I expected it. Just like you expect your car to start up when you insert and turn the ignition, I already knew He was going to show up and show off. In Luke 17: 5-6, Jesus tells his disciples, "If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you." It's all about having tremendous faith in the Lord.

Faith is the most powerful force that God has given us. With it we can move mountains, receive remarkable answers to prayer, and experience the impossible. "Nothing is impossible to him that BELIEVES." Jesus gave us an important, unforgettable lesson on the power of faith (Mark ll). On a spring afternoon Jesus and His disciples were traveling by foot across the dry middle-east desert when they came to a lonesome fig tree. As they approached it they found nothing but leaves. Then surprisingly Jesus said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." He said it loudly enough so that His disciples heard Him. The next day as they began their journey back down the old familiar road, Peter saw that the fig tree had withered from the roots. "Rabbi!" he exclaimed. "The fig tree you cursed has withered!" And with that miracle Jesus began to expound on the subject of faith. "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, `Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him."

I understand that there are "wiccians" who are peaceful and use their so called "powers" for the purpose of good. Nonetheless, it is all still very wrong and unbiblical. Jesus is the only true savior and the only one with the power to conquer death and the devil. It doesn't matter that witches do good things with their self proclaimed "powers" because they don't acknowledge and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God the Father is the only true God, He is the Creator and Almighty Father of all, whether we accept it or not. I've been accused many times of not being tolerant and of not being a "true" Christian because I obey and minister the word of Jesus and because I ferociously fight against demons and the schemes of Satan. It's been said I am a hypocrite because I preach hatred toward witches, demons, and Satan. I've been physically beaten for preaching the teachings of the God's spoken word [Bible]. I don't preach hatred, I preach Jesus. Jesus is the only way to everlasting life with the Father. I am a zealot of the Lord and I will not be timid about Him who created me, forgave me, and saved me. For God, I will do anything as long as it does not offend Him or violate the law of man. God promises the following: 2 Timothy 1: 7-7"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline" (NIV)

God is the only entity we are to worship, love, and call upon. The Bible is God's inspired word and the final authority regarding how God wants us to live. God and the Bible are not about us "crazy" or "fanatical" Christians, we've accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior already. We're already saved. We're only obeying His commandment and great commission. So, it's really about you who are not saved. It's really about how we're risking our safety (and sometimes even our lives) to help you un-saved people from making the ultimate wrong decision. Do you witches and sorcerers really think us so called "Christian Zealots" or "Christian fanatical" really enjoy getting beat up, being spit on, having our families murdered, and just all around being persecuted? I mean really, think about it. There is a God and there is a devil despite what you believe or what you think you know. That's the bottom line. Satan is the entity that lies to you and talks you into believing that "Jesus following zealots" (like me) are really trying to destroy the world by not being more "open-minded" and/or acceptable of different belief systems, religions, and/or philosophies. Satan fills your mind with these lies and gets you to believe that Christians are the true enemies. Remember that next time you bump into and get angry at a soldier of God trying to save you from the lake of fire. Witchcraft and sorcery is one way Satan fools you into disobeying God. Be smart, get saved, and get Jesus. It may seem as if we're trying to tear apart something innocent that might appear safe and peaceful and full of benefits to humankind, but in reality, witchcraft and sorcery is all a big fat lie. Its ultimate users and followers are weak-minded and stupid people; forgive me but it's the truth, I am sincerely not being mean. The devil has ensnared your mind. I know God has ensnared mine also, but the difference is that when I die, I'll get to go to Heaven and be in everlasting joy and peace, free of tears, pain, and suffering. You won't get that in Hell, and that's where unbelievers are going to end up.

Therefore, you better change your evil ways because God warns of the ultimate punishment. Revelation 21:8 says of "...those who practice magic arts ...their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur... the second death" (NIV). Those who practice witchcraft (sorcery) will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:20-21). These practices are anti-God and are in rebellion against Him. The biggest difference is this: My Jesus actually lived, He died for our sins, and He rose from the dead on the third day and ascended into Heaven to be with the Father. Jesus is the ultimate, He is the beginning and the end. He is perpetual and almighty. So, I say to you again, someday, YOU WILL SURELY DIE...and when you open your eyes again in that OTHER place, will you see Jesus in Heaven or will you see Satan in Hell...? The choice is yours. Get smart. Get Jesus. Get Saved!!

I agree with Stephanie's comment that you have the right to your opinion; I just wanted to point out that this reminds me of that poem about the martian writing a letter home about the earthlings he is observing- and all of the human things that look strange to him, and he misinterprets what humans do and their reasons for doing it. You're looking out from a distance at something you obviously don't understand and interpreting it based on your own views, your own filters, your own assumptions. Unfortunately, you are missing info and you're filling in the gaps with inaccurate guesses. The people you are looking out on are having quite a different experience than you, have quite different beliefs and ideas and purposes and explanations than you give here. You're just sadly mistaken in so many ways, I think disputes are always fair but not when they are based on so much misinformation.

I understand that freedom of speech applies to everyone...even biased people. While you have your right to your opinion, you do NOT have the right to claim that anyone elses beliefs are beneath yours and "wrong". Your claims that witchcraft is "evil" and "satan worshipping" is not completely accurate.

The story of this self proclaimed witch you had your experience with was interesting. My question is, do you consider the possibility that your prayer to your "Lord" and "Savior" may have been a form of "witchcraft"? Please allow me to explain before you get too upset (or possibly close-minded) about any differences of opinion. Remember, just as you have your right to your opinion, others have a right to theirs.

To me, witchcraft could be defined as the power of faith one has in themselves and the "higher power(s)". For example, your faith in your "Lord" and "Savior" is your power you bestow upon a "higher power" than yourself. "Witches" have a belief in the power they have within
