With Black Panthers, Was There Really Voter Intimidation?

Kathi Downs
I was watching Fox News -- the self-dubbed America's Election Headquarters -- and saw pictures of what appeared to be two men that gave the impression of being Black Panthers -- wearing military garb, and one with a night stick, intimidating voters. All of this happened less than an hour ago in Pennsylvania.

I was shocked. How could something like this happen? I thought that sort of thing was illegal. I was not able to tell by watching the film clips whether the men were arrested. It is said that one man was escorted off the premises. That is all that I have been able to find out.

If you choose to view the clip for yourself, you can find it at http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=2315.

I have been so proud of the people in this country, braving the weather and standing in long lines just to make their vote count. They have done so with patience, and without much incident. Hopefully, nothing of this sort happens again. It makes me kind of angry to see people, use any means possible, to try and strip people of their right to vote.

I am really hoping that as people go in and vote, they keep in mind, that the United States needs to have a 'balance of power.' I am afraid that it could have a devastating affect on our country, if everything goes all one way.

Even though I feel strongly about having a balance of power, I hate to see intimidation being used against people who turn out to vote. It is wrong. It goes against everything that we stand for as Americans, and it should not be allowed anywhere.

Meanwhile, people are continuing to wait their turn to vote. The lines are still huge in a lot of areas.

When my husband and I voted for Ronald Reagan the first time, we stood in line what seemed to be, hours. It makes me very grateful that Oregon went to mail-in ballots. I am hoping that more states go to them in the future. It sure does seem to simplify things.

If the Ku Klux Klan was just standing in front of a polling place, you'd never hear the end of it, yet this only gets a brief mention in the news media outlet.
