Within

Fiona Johnson
When wishes come true
Though they seldom do
Hunger controls you
You wish something new

Turn the rich into poor
Yet you still want more
Retaliations the cure
You stand and cry war

The blood is shed
Innocent tears pour
Evil you've wed
Tranquility you implore

Your prayers of peace
Still go unheard
Shadowed by desires
Its place deferred

The gavel has struck
Justice is served
Your memories unchanged
Your appetite uncurbed

If mankind minus one were of one opinion, then mankind is no more justified in silencing the one than the one - if he had the power - would be justified in silencing mankind.- John Stuart Mill   View profile
