Within the Magic: Disneyland Tips

Jon Sugi
Disneyland, the happiest place on earth. Now running as a theme park for 51 years with attractions for all ages. This is my favorite theme park next to Walt Disney World. But when you go for a day or two you want to get a bang for your buck. Well thats what this article is all about. I've been going to Disneyland for 20 years now and want to share some of my tips and tricks with you.

If you want to maximize your trip arrive before the gate opening time. The closer to the front of the line will give you the most advantageous spot to get to attractions without any wait. I would suggest 30 minutes and not too much more. If you are going to be at the park over a holiday period, then arrive 45 minutes to and hour early. When you are in the front of the line you can ride at least 2-3 attractions without any wait.

This number can greatly increase depending on what land you go to first. Critter Country or Toontown are the two best lands to start at. They are in the v ery back of the park, but people usually hit those lands later in the day. Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Adventureland are usually busy in the morning because they are the first three lands people will enter from the main hub.

FASTPASS, is the greatest thing Disney has done for the people.

The Fastpass is a free ticket that gives you a time window you can return to the ride. When you return to the Fastpass attraction you will pass most of the line if not all of it using this ticket. So for example you want to ride Peter Pan's Adventure. You go to the Fastpass kiosk and put your Disneyland ticket into the kiosk machine. Then it prints out a little ticket with your return time, say 12:30-1:30. Then between 12:30-1:30 you can come back and skip ahead in the line. Although the ticket says you can only use the ticket within your time window this is not true.

Once your ticket has hit 12:30 for example you can use the ticket anytime during that day. You could use it at 2:30, 5, or right before you are leaving the park. The other stipulation for the Fastpass is one per ticket per window time. So during the 12:30-1:30 window to Peter Pan you have to wait to get another Fastpass until 1:31 for another attraction.

Here is where these two cards are played for the win. Get to the park early and figure out which rides you want to ride first. Now go to the back of the park once the gates open to the public. On the way to the back use your ticket to get Fastpasses for any major attraction en route to the back. Now you shouls have enough time to ride 2-4 rides with absolutely no wait.

Once lines begin to appear your time window for your Fastpass should be active. Before you use your Fastpass go and get a pair for another attraction. Now go ahead and use your first Fastpass. Once the ride is finished you can do whatever your party wants to do. And you have another pair of Fastpasses for another attraction.
