Without a theme
My favourite team
Play blindly
It would seem
In red and white
But their tale
It would seem
Is one of plight
They once had greats
Not the case of late
It would seem
Now they rely
On has beens
Or else youth
It would seem
To set the scene
For this season
Will soon end
I hope for next
I would deem
That they learn to defend
My favourite team
Play blindly
It would seem
In red and white
But their tale
It would seem
Is one of plight
They once had greats
Not the case of late
It would seem
Now they rely
On has beens
Or else youth
It would seem
To set the scene
For this season
Will soon end
I hope for next
I would deem
That they learn to defend

Post a CommentI just don't understand football. My daughter loves watching college football.
I hear you, John. I was a junior before I saw my school win a football game.
In the end the sports world only allows one winner and many losers. You'd think people might get tired of that eventually, but hope springs eternal, and it's great when the good guys win. :)
I hear you about teams and frustrations. My team opens against the Lakers in the playoffs. They've got enough talent to play and win, but they don't have the heart to win on the road. Good poem.
Very witty ending, but John, I give you Luton - 92nd out of 92. Things could be worse!
thanks, great poem!
Sorry about the team...but at least you got a good poem out of it!
LOL - Who is it????
I had to read the comments to figure out the team too. :)
Sorry! I did not intend for this to be a quiz or a big mystery, as explained two messages before it is my local team Southampton.
